Carpentry and Joinery in Worthing, Lancing and Brighton

Lancing-based builders and landscapers covering Worthing, Brighton, Shoreham and the surrounding areas.

We take on first and second fix carpentry inside the house and timber structures outside it, all cut and fitted on site to suit the space.

It suits homeowners replacing tired doors, skirting and flooring, and anyone who needs storage or a garden structure built to fit rather than bought off the shelf.

You get timber chosen for the job, tidy joints and a finish that lines up with the rest of the room. Nothing is bodged to save an hour.

Why it matters

Getting it right the first time.

Older Worthing and Brighton houses rarely have square openings or level floors, so mass produced doors and skirting need scribing and packing to sit right. Outside, untreated softwood in a coastal garden will move and rot far quicker than most people expect, so the timber grade and the fixings matter as much as the build. Work that is measured rather than assumed is what stops doors catching a year later.

FAQs

Common questions.

Can you hang doors in an old house with uneven frames?

Yes. We scribe and adjust to the existing opening, and where a frame is beyond saving we will price replacing it.

How long does it take to fit internal doors?

Around one to two doors per hour for straight swaps, or half a day each where frames, linings and ironmongery all need work.

Do you supply materials or can I use my own?

Either works. We can source timber and ironmongery, or fit items you have already bought.

What timber do you use for garden structures?

Pressure treated softwood as standard, with hardwood or composite where the budget allows and the structure is exposed.

Do you paint or stain the finished work?

We can. Decorating is quoted separately so you can decide whether to take that on yourself.

Can you build storage to fit an awkward alcove?

Yes, that is the main reason people ask. Everything is measured and built to the actual space rather than a standard size.
