Driveway and Patio Restoration in Worthing, Lancing and Brighton

Lancing-based builders and landscapers covering Worthing, Brighton, Shoreham and the surrounding areas.

We clean, repair and seal existing driveways and patios so you get the surface back rather than paying to replace it.

It suits block paving that has gone green, slabs covered in algae, sunken areas and joints where the sand has washed out.

The surface is washed down, weeds and moss removed, joints refilled and the whole area sealed where suitable. Most drives look close to new again for a fraction of the cost of relaying.

Why it matters

Getting it right the first time.

Sussex sits damp and mild through winter, which is ideal for algae, and a north facing drive near the coast will green over quickly once the joints are open. Left alone the sand washes out, blocks start to rock and the surface begins to sink. Cleaning and resealing at the right interval keeps water out of the joints and stops a cheap job turning into a relay.

FAQs

Common questions.

How often should a driveway be sealed?

Every three to five years for most block paving, sooner on an exposed or heavily used drive.

Will pressure washing damage the blocks?

Not when the pressure and nozzle are matched to the surface. The sand does come out, which is why rejointing afterwards is part of the job.

How long does a driveway take?

Most drives are cleaned and rejointed in one to two days, with sealing done once the surface is fully dry.

Do I have to have it sealed?

No, but sealing slows down weed growth and staining, and it keeps the joints stable for longer.

Can you fix a sunken area rather than the whole drive?

Yes. We lift the affected blocks, correct the sub base and relay them so the level matches.

Will the weeds come back?

Far more slowly once the joints are refilled and sealed, though an occasional treatment is still sensible.
